Completion of Movement

From Awakening Potential to Action That Creates Value

An image appears.

Before you understand what you felt, another takes its place.

One word awakens fear.

Another produces outrage.

A third promises an immediate explanation.

The body begins to respond, but it is not given enough time to conclude.

Those who want to capture attention do not need to prevent feeling.

They may do the opposite: continuously stimulate the body without offering enough silence for the experience to mature.

In some television news programs, words, images, and opinions may occupy every interval. On social media, the sequence never ends. The next piece of content arrives before the previous one has found meaning.

The proto-feeling begins, but does not complete its path.

Breathing has changed.

Tension has appeared.

Attention has been mobilized.

But before the person can perceive, interpret, and choose, another stimulus enters.

Those who capture attention interrupt the time feeling needs to reach a conclusion.

A 2025 meta-analysis combining 71 studies and more than 98,000 participants found an association between greater consumption of short-form videos and poorer outcomes in attention and inhibitory control. Because many of the studies were observational, these findings do not demonstrate that short videos directly cause such difficulties, but they indicate a relationship that deserves careful investigation.

The issue, therefore, is not only how much content we receive.

It is whether the Body-Territory has enough time to transform what it has received.

When Feeling Does Not Find a Path

A dance performance may also awaken intensity.

The artist’s body falls.

The spectator holds their breath.

The music grows.

A memory appears.

Something wants to move.

But what happens next?

We may leave the theater, open our phones, and immediately fill the interval with more images.

We may publish a reaction before understanding the experience.

We may search for a ready-made interpretation.

In this case, the performance mobilized something, but perhaps that mobilization did not find integration.

Within the BrainLatam hypothesis, Completion of Movement names the pathway through which mobilization may become perception, intention, gesture, sensory feedback, meaning, choice, and transition.

It can be represented in this way:

mobilization → perception → intention → gesture → feedback → meaning → choice → transition

This sequence should not be understood as a rigid chain.

The body may advance, return, pause, and reorganize its stages.

The central hypothesis is simpler:

What begins in the body needs to find some possibility of continuation.

Without continuation, mobilization may remain as tension, urgency, or repetition.

In BrainLatam language, mobilization that has not yet found sufficient variation, conclusion, or recovery may be understood as Anergia.

Anergia is not physical energy stored inside a muscle, nor an emotion trapped in fascia.

It is a hypothesis for naming a movement that has begun but has not yet found enough space to transform.

From Potential to Intention

Feeling something does not automatically determine what we should do.

Anger may produce attack, but it may also become a question, a boundary, or responsible political action.

Sadness may become silence, care, writing, or connection.

Enthusiasm may generate movement, but it may also be captured by a false promise.

For this reason, Completion of Movement does not mean rapidly discharging every tension.

It means allowing potential to find direction.

Perception asks:

What has begun to happen within me?

Intention asks:

What do I want to do with this?

Gesture asks:

What action can I try?

Sensory feedback asks:

What happened when I acted?

Meaning asks:

What does this experience represent now?

Choice asks:

Do I want to continue, change direction, or stop?

Transition allows the body to leave one state and enter another.

This pathway restores agency to the person.

The sense of agency is related to the experience of producing an action and recognizing its effects. Contemporary studies show that it depends, among other factors, on the relationship among intention, movement, and sensory feedback. When the perceived result differs greatly from what was planned, the sense of authorship may decrease.

For this reason, feedback matters.

I raise my hand.

I perceive the movement.

The other body responds.

I hear my own voice.

I observe the consequence.

I can adjust the next gesture.

When I perceive feedback, I stop being merely mobilized and begin participating in the movement again.

Completion does not require every action to succeed.

Error also produces feedback.

Refusal produces information.

The absence of a result may change intention.

Movement becomes complete not because it perfectly achieved an objective, but because it allowed perception, learning, and a new choice.

Kundalini as a Window into Potential

In different yoga traditions, Kundalini is described through the image of a vital potential that awakens and moves through the body.

BrainLatam does not need to turn this image into anatomy in order to recognize its power.

Kundalini may function as a spiritual and phenomenological window for thinking about experiences of awakening, heat, vibration, expansion, intensity, ascent, transformation, and the direction of potential.

Neuroscience may investigate phenomena associated with these experiences:

changes in breathing;

focused attention;

bodily perception;

motor sensations;

autonomic arousal;

altered states of consciousness;

and the effects of practices combining posture, breathing, meditation, and movement.

With current evidence, it cannot confirm the physical existence of chakras or metaphysical energy moving through the spine.

A 2024 review found potentially favorable effects of Kundalini Yoga practices on some cognitive outcomes in older adults, but it included only a small number of trials, and the interventions combined several elements. These studies evaluate the effects of practices; they do not confirm the metaphysical explanations of Kundalini.

A neurophysiological model published in 2026 also attempted to relate reports of Kundalini experiences to autonomic and cortical processes. The authors themselves present the proposal as theoretical, exploratory, and hypothesis-generating, based on preliminary observations without a control group. It should therefore not be treated as proof of Kundalini as a physical entity.

Intercultural dialogue becomes more responsible when spirituality is not required to become neuroscience in order to have value.

Tradition may offer images and questions.

Phenomenology may describe experience.

Neuroscience may design experiments.

None of these fields needs to claim that it has completely explained the others.

Kundalini may inspire the question of how awakened potential finds direction without being reduced to a neurotransmitter, a brain region, or a scientifically confirmed form of physical energy.

Not Every Discharge Is Completion

An intense experience may end in relief.

A person dances, cries, shouts, breathes deeply, or participates in a collective ritual.

Afterward, they feel clarity.

That relief may be important.

But the experience of relief does not prove that the interpretation created during the experience is true.

Bodily mobilization may decrease and produce a feeling of certainty. Even then, we still need to ask:

What was understood?

What choice became possible?

What consequence emerged?

Did the person gain agency, or begin obeying a narrative?

Was there integration, or only discharge?

Within the BrainLatam hypothesis, the discharge of Anergia and the Completion of Movement are not necessarily the same thing.

Discharge may reduce tension.

Completion requires the experience to also find perception, feedback, meaning, and possibility of choice.

This distinction protects people in political, religious, economic, and artistic environments.

An experience may be emotionally powerful and still encourage submission.

It may create belonging while removing the freedom to disagree.

It may offer relief and transform that relief into proof of a truth that was never examined.

The body feeling that something has ended does not mean that thought has reached a reliable conclusion.

For this reason, completion must include metacognition.

What did I feel?

What was I encouraged to interpret?

What changed in my actions?

Can I still disagree?

Can I still leave?

Can I still choose the next movement?

When the Performance Continues as Action

The dance ends.

The audience applauds.

But perhaps the movement has not ended.

A performance may awaken the desire to dance.

It may lead someone to speak with a person from another generation.

It may inspire a researcher to formulate a new question.

It may lead a teacher to change an activity.

It may reveal an accessibility barrier.

It may produce silence, rest, or the need for distance.

Creating value does not mean turning every experience into productivity.

Conscious action may be small.

Writing down a question.

Breathing before publishing.

Listening to someone.

Creating a dance.

Changing a procedure.

Refusing an automatic response.

Resting so that feeling can mature.

The choreography Multitud, by Uruguayan choreographer Tamara Cubas, works with dozens of participants of different ages and backgrounds. Each performance is reconstructed by the bodies present, showing that a collective work does not need only to repeat a finished form: it may produce movement, meaning, and organization through participation.

This helps us imagine the performance as the beginning of a circulation:

the artist offers a gesture;
the audience receives a mobilization;
each Body-Territory transforms what it received;
feedback returns to the collective.

The experience creates value when it does not end in excitement or immediate reaction.

It continues as learning, care, creation, change, or questioning.

Protecting the Time Needed for Conclusion

Those who want to capture our attention always offer another stimulus.

Completion of Movement requires the opposite.

It requires an interval.

Perhaps a few seconds before commenting.

Perhaps a walk after the performance.

Perhaps a conversation that does not try to win.

Perhaps time for an unnamed sensation to become intention.

The proto-feeling does not need to be published as soon as it appears.

Emotion does not need to receive an immediate explanation.

Potential does not need to be surrendered to the first group that offers direction.

Not everything that awakens me deserves to guide my next gesture.

Attention protects the interval.

Metacognition observes feeling.

Agency chooses an action.

Sensory feedback informs what happened.

Meaning may mature.

And the body finds a transition.

This is the Completion of Movement proposed by BrainLatam:

not energy that must necessarily rise;

not an emotion that must be discharged;

not immediate action used to eliminate tension;

but the possibility of transforming mobilization into conscious action that expands choice.

The question that remains after the performance is:

Will what was awakened within me encounter only another stimulus, or can it become an action that creates value for my Body-Territory and for the collective?

In the previous text, we argued that Jiwasa needs to learn from different bodies, languages, and rhythms.

Now the movement advances:

Can an inclusive collective also offer enough time for what each person felt to find its own pathway toward perception, choice, and conclusion?
