New actiCAP Splitter Box: Low-Profile Design

New actiCAP Splitter Box: Low-Profile Design

With this Price List, we are introducing a new and improved version of the actiCAP’s splitter box. This new design has a lower profile and is better sealed than the current splitter box. Although it is not waterproof, we expect slightly higher water resistance. The handling process remains the same, and care should still be taken to avoid water damage.

The low-profile splitter box is now the new standard for electrode sets and all systems. From today, any new system ordered will be delivered with the low-profile splitter box. Prices will remain the same as before.

We can foresee that some of your customers may require or specifically ask for the old version of the splitter box. We have therefore decided to keep those available. Please see a list of the old and corresponding new article numbers below.

Important note: The low-profile splitter box comes with a small change in terms of replacing electrodes. Currently, there is a square rubber sheath at the end of each electrode cable, which is a strain relief. With the new housing of the low-profile splitter box, this rubber is not required and will no longer fit. This makes current replacement electrodes incompatible. The good news is that the rubber sheath can be slid back easily along the cable, which makes the current replacement electrodes compatible again. Please click here to see instructions titled: "How to replace a faulty actiCAP slim electrode (splitter box with low profile)". Alternatively, a dedicated replacement electrode can be ordered, which will be delivered without the rubber.

Please see the following pictures, which display the differences in detail from the outside, as well as from the inside. Don’t forget to check the instructions linked above. Thank you!
Picture 1: The new splitter box is of a considerably lower profile (30% reduction).
Picture 2: The new splitter box is firmly closed with 5 screws (instead of 1 in the old splitter box).
Picture 3: Please note, electrode cables of the old splitter boxes required rubber sheaths and a metal plate to release strain and keep pin connectors in place. The design of the new splitter box does not require these.
