Improving the way for kids to see the world using pokémon

I consider part of this success the fact that the Pokémon world has a great capacity to attract the interest and attention of children of various ages. It was common for children to compare that they knew more children soon after the first generation came along, and even considering the complexity of some names, there were children who had memorized all 150. What pokémon teaches for children goes well beyond memorizing various names. I see that the logic that was set up as the basis for the pokemon world can be applied to various moments of our reality and can be very useful for children to face problems and make important decisions [4].

In the world of pokémon the "hero" is called "trainer". One of the goals of the trainer is to capture new pokémon and train them while traveling around the world [3]. When children face challenges during their growth the concept of "training to get stronger" can be very helpful. I compare this philosophy to training your skills. So just by training something she already knows, the child can solve some of their problems. I also compared "catching a new pokémon" to developing a new skill. By teaching children that they can learn new skills, and that they are not limited to what they already know.

Another concept that I also think is important in the world of pokémon are the types, weaknesses and advantages. Each pokémon is classified in 1 or 2 types, each of these fire, water, plant, electric, etc. Each type has its advantages over other types. For example, a water pokémon that attacks a fire pokémon causes double damage. That way, even a weak pokémon can beat a strong pokémon if he has the correct type. Such a concept can help children look at challenges from other points of view. Something that is very difficult to overcome with their current skills, and can be overcome if they learn appropriate skills. This concept can also bring the view that a feature or skill that does not appear to be so useful now can be useful to face a challenge of a different nature, perhaps this pokemon that does not seem to be so advantageous now is the pokémon that has more chance to win a challenge to come, and sometimes a challenge we can not even imagine. [2].

A Pokémon gets stronger when he is trained. But some Pokémon when trained can become stronger to the point of evolving. When they evolve they become another pokémon, being able to also acquire new types and new attacks and other characteristics [1]. In this way, the concept of evolution enters the vocabulary of children in a different way from the conventional one. Through this, it is presented to ideas that with enough training the children or their abilities can turn into something new, stronger and more capable. Children can also learn that they are not limited to what others have called them, or what they think they are. By seeing that a weak-appearing pokémon can become a powerful-looking pokémon, children have a chance to absorb the image that they too can change or even change their reality [4].

In the world of pokémon also exists the figure of teachers (called as professors), they help the trainers to understand and to manage their pokémon. The most well-known character who possesses this position is Professor Oak, a scholar of the Pokémon world is known by many characters. Such a figure brings back to the child the teacher as a great ally, someone who will bring guidance and what children can count on for their growth [4].
